Five Hints On How To Locate A Top Class Hotel In St Pancras

By Herbert Sutton Owen

Choosing Kings Cross hotels is difficult because of the sheer amount of choice you have. So how do you pick the right hotel? You can look at the location or reviews - two of many ways to pick. Here are five tips to help you along.

When it comes to picking a hotel in Kings Cross, one thing to consider is that pricing dictates availability. Any event attracts tourists, and tourists flock to nearby hotels. Hotels always put their prices up with increased demand. On the flip side though- you may find a bargain in quieter periods.

Once you have a shortlist of hotels with pricing and availability, you can compare them further. Assuming the hotel has one, log onto its website to check their ammenities. Making direct comparisons you can then weigh up hotels against each other. Also consider some facilities are worth more than others. A TV for example, has to be worth more than a trouser press! Depending on which way you are inclined, most people would prefer a bar to a garden. Personal preference is king!

The most important part of a hotel for me is good staff. Thus, giving the hotel reception a call can help. While you are on the phone, you can learn about the facilities, and the staff. Polite, happy staff will make a stay a most enjoyable one.

Location is key for a hotel. Otherwise this defeats the purpose of staying in a hotel! A hotel within walking distance to Kings Cross train station is a good idea, as the Underground links can take you to pretty much anywhere in London in around an hour (or minutes for some areas). Google Maps can tell you what is near such as bars and restaurants. Of course, don't forget location isn't everything if you can afford a taxi to come pick you up and take you where you please. Taxi transport is also much safer in the evenings.

Reviews make or break a hotel! Website review sites can be found aplenty via Google. Though they may be moderated, some hotels may have their own online guestbook. Friends who have stayed in the area also are good for recommendations. Don't always take word of mouth as gospel though. Bear in mind that some people can be way too picky, and others far too easily pleased.
