Borrow Passports For Your Next Time Off Tomorrow

By Troy Tran

If you are looking to get away to the beach, consider traveling to Oregon. Oregon has miles and miles of beautiful coastline and it is often overlooked as a vacation destination. The Oregon Coast is home to many luxurious hotels which offer ocean views and deluxe accommodations as well as private beachfront homes that are available to rent. When you tire of walking on the beach, head into town for even more fun activities, shopping, and dining opportunities. There is so much to do when you choose the Oregon Coast for your vacation!

Astoria is the first Oregon town we will discuss. This community is found several miles out from the Pacific Ocean at the Columbia River's mouth. The Astoria Column is an excellent place to visit. It is a 164-step tower that tops off at up to 125 feet. It is definitely worth the walk to the very top when you finally get to see the amazing landscapes below. There is a restored 1913 trolley that provides reasonably priced rides to anyone who wants to tour the region in leisure.

After that, we'll head further south. The Oregon Coast Highway, also known as Highway 101, is the best way to head toward our next destination - Seaside, Oregon. Seaside is the perfect family-friendly beach vacation destination. Seaside offers many big, sandy beaches that are ideal for swimming, volleyball, flying kites, and even having a beach bonfire party with friends.

Each year at the end of summer there is a huge amateur volleyball tournament, the biggest in the world! Another great attraction is the Promenade in Seaside which is a great place to visit. Walk along the Promenade and gaze at the ocean or just people-watch, it's all up to you on your Oregon Coast vacation! For the kids, there are bumper cars, arcades, and a carousel! You can find a great hotel, rental house or bed and breakfast with a view of both the ocean and the boardwalk.

Once you're done with the beach, take in some terrific shopping! You won't find a more beautiful mall than Seaside's, it has a huge carousel in the middle of the shops! There's even a game arcade and an old fashioned soda fountain in the mall alongside all the great shops!
