If you prefer street shopping than shopping centres then you have multiple choices; there are many shops on the Southside and Northside of the city. On the Southside Grafton Street is the place to shop.It is located between St. Stephens Green and Trinity College and here you will find shops such as Brown Thomas and many unique shops. On the Northside the main shopping street is known as Henry Street and here you will find various clothing and footwear stores.
Malls and arcades are also popular with visitors and locals. Georges Street arcade has a great atmosphere for shoppers with a great range of shops which include clothes, flowers, accessories, food and drink, jewellery, antiques and collectables and even hairdressing. For people who prefer the atmosphere of a market, then you should visit the many markets in Dublin City. Every Friday from 11.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m Smithfield Market is held at the Haymarket end of Smithfield near the Luas stop. There is a variety of stalls from food to jewellery. For those who appreciate art, Merrion Square Art is held at Merrion Square where artists show their art and here you can also talk to the artist and find out more information about their work. This market is held every week-end between 10.00 a.m and 6.00 p.m.
