Dublin - A Shopper's Delight

Dublin city is the place to be if you enjoy shopping; there are so many shopping centres to visit and many unique shops all over Dublin City Centre.

Shopping Centres located in Dublin are Jervis Shopping Centre on Abbey Street Upper, The Ilac Centre, Henry Street, The Stephens Green Centre, St. Stephens Green, Powerscourt Shopping Centre, South William Street and there are many more to choose from. In these shopping centres you will find shops such as Dorothy Perkins, New Look, Topman, Topshop, Waterstones, PC World, H&M, Perfume Direct, TK Maxx and that’s just to mention a few. Also these centres provide food outlets such as McDonalds, Burger King, Bagel bar, Costa Coffee and many more.

If you prefer street shopping than shopping centres then you have multiple choices; there are many shops on the Southside and Northside of the city. On the Southside Grafton Street is the place to shop.It is located between St. Stephens Green and Trinity College and here you will find shops such as Brown Thomas and many unique shops. On the Northside the main shopping street is known as Henry Street and here you will find various clothing and footwear stores.

Malls and arcades are also popular with visitors and locals. Georges Street arcade has a great atmosphere for shoppers with a great range of shops which include clothes, flowers, accessories, food and drink, jewellery, antiques and collectables and even hairdressing. Also at this arcade you will find book shops, a gallery, a fortune teller and even a specialist food store, so you definitely will not be disappointed.

For people who prefer the atmosphere of a market, then you should visit the many markets in Dublin City. Every Friday from 11.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m Smithfield Market is held at the Haymarket end of Smithfield near the Luas stop. There is a variety of stalls from food to jewellery. For those who appreciate art, Merrion Square Art is held at Merrion Square where artists show their art and here you can also talk to the artist and find out more information about their work. This market is held every week-end between 10.00 a.m and 6.00 p.m.    

Dublin is a great place to shop where you will find everything you are looking for, you will not find the shopping atmosphere that Dublin has to offer anywhere else. As there are so many shops and markets to visit the choice is endless, and you will not be disappointed.
