It's not until you take a good look at what Scotland offers, that you realise just what a terrific location it is for a break. With fascinating and welcoming cities, to fantastic views and scenery, a visit to Scotland could be exactly what you need.

With so much to see and do in Scotland, you'll have a difficult time settling on just one area to visit, but it will certainly be worthwhile when you do. There are many great Scottish hotels that you can choose from, with a wide range of things to do and multiple amenities in each.

Regardless of the kind of vacation you are looking for, Edinburgh has something for all. Whether you wish to immerse your self in history and visit the famed castle or maybe the many galleries, or experience the fun and excitement of the annual Fringe Festival as well as the local pubs and clubs, Scotland's capital offers everything.

On the other side of the country is Glasgow. This modern, cosmopolitan location gives you all of the arts and entertainment you might want. With many excellent bars and places to eat, you will find everything you will need to help you relax following a tough day walking around this busy city.

When you venture away from the cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh, you notice how beautiful this nation is. If you love being outdoors, the rolling hillsides and mountains are great for intrepid walkers, with long sandy shorelines in case you favor something slightly less energetic.

One of the biggest customs that Scotland is recognised for, is the manufacture of its famous whiskies. Distilleries which are centuries old, offer you the chance to have a look and see how this unique spirit is manufactured. You'll get to see the techniques that haven't altered for hundreds of years, and you could also get to try out the finished product as well.

Every year, on the twenty fifth January, all the Scots remember their much-loved son and one of the country's legendary characters, Robert Burns. Therefore if you want to visit around this time, you may be in for a real treat. Burn's Night celebrations happen to be famous around the globe, and you can be certain you will be made to feel at home.

A holiday in Scotland provides just about everything you will be looking for from a getaway. Whether its long walks on the beach, or perhaps climbing breathtaking hills, the liveliest bars and night clubs, to the most relaxing and tranquil hideaways, there is really something for everybody. So you can see why plenty of people think Scotland may be the perfect destination for a spend a little bit of time.
