As mentioned earlier the Salmon species that can be found in Hoquiam's waters are Chinook or King Salmon and Coho with both fish being valued for their flesh whether smoked or cooked masterfully by whomever.

Violators of the regulations can expect stiff fines and penalties if caught. Fourteen inches is the legal size for Sea-run Cutthroats. The waterfront is also in the verge of being rehabilitated so depending on your timing, more activities and facilities maybe in store for any visitor to the Hoquiam waterfront.
While in Hoquiam town, you can visit the other attractions that the city has to offer aside from it wonderful nature and amazing flora and fauna, there's the Hoquiam Castle bed and breakfast that is a historical heritage site, same as the 7th Street Theater and the Olympic Stadium, history preserved and still serving the residents of Hoquiam and if that is not enough history then the Polson House Museum is a must visit. The Polson Museum is a treasure trove of Hoquiam heritage both in terms of its industry and its people. Hoquiam city also hosts the internationally renowned Loggers Play day where various competitions about lumber cutting and the various skills of lumberjacks are displayed.
