If you are looking for ways to entertain yourself and/or your children without having to stay indoors, then you have come to the right place. My wife and I, by nature, are outdoorsy folks and whenever we can, time and weather permitting, we love to be outdoors.
Here are some of the best games for you and your family to play outside.
If you have a pool, then the sky is the limit. One of my favorite games to play in the pool is pool basketball. It requires a different level of athleticism than traditional on land games, and as such may even the playing field out for kids who are not as athletic.
One great way to get some solid exercise while enjoying the scenery of the outdoors is to go on a hike. Whether it's a simple trail or a challenging ascent, find something within the physical constraints of you and your kids, that will be difficult, but rewarding.
Every once in a while during the summer we love to have family barbecues. I am certainly no great cook, but you can buy some burgers and dogs from the local grocery store for cheap, make a few appetizers and have yourself an afternoon party. Having some great patio furniture doesn't hurt either.
If you have an outdoor patio area, then it never hurts to bring out some board games on a gorgeous day and play some games. Some of my personal favorites include classics like Sorry, Monopoly, and Trivial Pursuit. If you need some new board games, you can find some great classics online.
One other great activity that can be played in any outdoor area is a simple game of Frisbee golf, or as it is commonly known, "frolf." All you have to do is set up different "holes" and use the Frisbee as a golf ball substitute.
These are just some of the many activities you can do outside. Use your imagination and get out there!
