How To Apply Subconscious Mind Power To Noticeably Enhance Your Golf Game

By Xavier J. Murphy

If you play golf, then you know it can be one of the most enjoyable, yet at the same time one of the most frustrating games to play. One hole you could be hitting everything perfectly, yet on the next the ball zigging and zagging between the rough and the fairway bunkers. What to do?

The trick to golf, as is the secret to any other exercise, is imagination and visualization. Ask any professional, and they'll tell you that a huge part of their accomplishment is genuine, steady, visualization. When you envisage something, you are giving direct commands to your subconscious mind on how you want to perform.

Think about a golf swing, a tee shot if you will. Do you think specifically about what angle you are opening the club face, or how far back to go on the back swing? Do you know precisely what slant with which the club face hits the ball? Probably not.

If you are similar to most people, you have a unclear idea of what course you'd like the ball to go in. Then you swing away, and dream for the best. Sadly, this rarely works with any quantity of reliability. From time to time you get fortunate, and hit one straight down the center, other times you don't even worry yourself looking for your ball.

So how do you tap into your commanding subconscious mind to improve your game? Easy. Unite some potent statements, with some tough visualizations, and repeat them in a relaxed, almost sleepy state.

For example, if you'd like an enhanced tee-shot, you may say something like this:

I always drive my ball straight down the middle of the fairway. Hitting straight shots from the tee is normal for me. My associates are jealous of my consistent tee shot.

While you are saying this, visualize your ball going straight down the center of the fairway. Picture hearing your friends saying what a amazing shot it is. Imagine how you feel when you hit such a fantastic shot.

The most excellent time to say this to yourself, and use your visualization is to get in a tranquil, almost asleep state. Sit in a snug chair, take a few deep breaths and shut your eyes. Picture seeing the numbers starting with ten, and going down to one. When you get to one, take a number of yawning breaths, and just say "relax" to yourself softly.

Then begin to slowly and quietly repeat your announcement to yourself, while seeing the ball go right down the middle.

If you do this two or three times a day for a week or two, you will observe some remarkable improvements in your tee shot. After you've got that part of your game down, you can work on your fairway shots, you short game, your putting, and every other facet of the game.
