Nelson bay is the ideal place to kick back and relax surrounded by nature both bush and sea. Situated about 1 1/2 hrs North of Sydney positioned in the Heart of Port Stephens it is easy to get to and an easy drive.

There are plenty of charter boats going out on regular tours daily to see theses creatures up close. I recently went out to the sand dunes at Birubi beach and sat in the dunes and enjoyed a bottle of Champagne while watching the sun go down. Amazing place to experience the solitude and the vastness. The beach is about 20 k's long.
